A Weekend in Indiana

We went to Indiana to visit the DeGaetano's for Adina's birthday! Tony and I headed out Friday with Michael, Daniel, and Gen. Karin came on Saturday. We spent a fun Friday at the hotel pool. Saturday was a busy day with Madison's soccer tournament, more swimming, and Adina's party at the theater. We went to see High School Musical 3. The kids enjoyed it! On Sunday, we were able to spend some time shopping before heading back home. We are already planning on heading back sometime soon :).

Nightmare on Fairgrounds Road

We went to the Haunted Fairgrounds with our friends. Michael barely got in the door of the "Haunted Barn" before he was too scared to go on!! The LIGHTS were ON!!! Emily and Gen were too scared, too. I have to admit that though the lights were on, most of the time it was still pretty dark but the monsters didn't jump out or talk to you. While we were waiting "Michael Meyer" came up to us. Michael and Daniel both thought he was pretty cool. After he left, Michael asked where the Oscar Meyer ghost went!!!
Emily, Gen, Daniel, Eli, and MichaelAs Grundman's were heading out to their car, Eli hit his head. That is REAL BLOOD on the towel :(. It ended up just being a small puncture but there was ALOT of blood! The chainsaw massacre guy came by to check on Eli so we thought it would be funny to take his picture with Eli.

Tony, Michael, and I worked at the civil war reenactment all weekend for Kramer's Kitchen. Michael enjoyed meeting "Abe Lincoln" and watching the battle too.

Boy Scout Night at O'Brien Field

Michael with Johnny Bench Michael with Andre Dawson

We had a fantastic time in Peoria. It was an opportunity of a life time to meet both Johnny Bench and Andre Dawson even though Michael has no clue who they are :). I was excited to get my own autographs on the newspaper above!! The 2 famous players were only a small part of the evening ----- free food, free snacks, fireworks, Bluz Brothers Band and fun with friends Eli, Austin, and Cameron!

A Wet and Soggy Homestead Weekend

After finding out the parade was cancelled, we met everyone up at Kramer's Kitchen to have some lunch. I didn't think it would ever stop raining. After eating lunch, we arrived at home to find 4 inches of water in the basement! What a mess!

One of the only events not affected by the weather was the Homestead Play "High School Musical". We went with Jill, Donovan, Adina, Madison, Karin and Gen. It was a great performance by local high school students!
